According to The Athletic’s Diana Russini, the 49ers have reportedly voided all of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s remaining guarantees, and will likely release him before the season is over, which will result in dead money hits of $9,917,105 in 2025, & $33,353,124 in 2026, which results in a $18,448,137 loss in cap room, but it’s possible that the 49ers took out a injury policy on Aiyuk like they did with Nick Bosa, which would help offset the loss of cap room in 2026.

The 49ers would save $41,449,281 in 2027, $43,325,281 in 2028, & $14.545 million in 2029, which will help the 49ers out, especially in 2027 when they’re up against the projected cap.
