The 49ers have filled the special teams coordinator spot by officially hiring former New York Jets special teams coordinator Brant Boyer.

Boyer was the Jets special teams coordinator for 9 seasons, during which the unit was tied for 2nd in total touchdowns(9), 2nd in blocked punts(8), tied for 5th in special teams points scored(63), & tied for 5th for opponents kickoff return average(21.8) from 2016-2024.
