49ers activate LT Trent Williams, release RT Brandon Parker, elevate DE Sam Okuayinonu & SS Tracy Walker III ahead of tonight’s week 1 matchup with the Jets

The 49ers have officially activated left tackle Trent Williams off of the reserve/Did Not Report list, and to make room on the roster, the 49ers released right tackle Brandon Parker, while the team elevated defensive end Sam Okuayinonu, & strong safety Tracy Walker III from the practice squad.

With defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos out, and starting strong safety Talanoa Hufanga doubtful, this made the most sense, as the 49ers would only have 3 healthy defensive ends, and 3 healthy safeties.
