The 49ers lost their home finale to the Lions 40-28, in a game where the 49ers left at least 6 points out on the field due to two missed field goals by Jake Moody, plus 2 costly interceptions thrown by Brock Purdy, who went 27/35 for 377 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 2 aforementioned interceptions, but left late in the game with a wrist or arm injury, being replaced by Joshua Dobbs who went 3/4 for 35 passing yards.

Rushing wise, Isaac Guerendo led the way with 34 rushing yards on 9 carries, followed by Deebo Samuel Sr. with 16 rushing yards on 3 carries, and Purdy with 12 rushing yards on 3 carries, including a 9 yard rushing touchdown, while Dobbs had a late 7 yard touchdown run.

Ricky Pearsall had a breakout game, leading the team with 141 receiving yards on 8 catches, 1 receiving touchdown, while also having 6 rushing yards on 2 carries.

George Kittle had 112 receiving yards, eclipsing the 1000 yard mark, on 8 catches, while Jauan Jennings had 67 receiving yards on 7 catches, while Guerendo had 65 receiving yards, which included a nice 40 yard catch, on 4 catches.

Chris Conley had 1 catch for 13 receiving yards, while Kyle Juszcyzk had 1 catch for 9 receiving yards, which was Purdy’s 2nd touchdown pass on the day, followed by Samuel who had 1 catch for 5 receiving yards, which was Purdy’s 3rd touchdown on the day through the air.

On defense, Deommodore Lenoir led the way with 9 tackles, followed by Nick Bosa, & Dee Winters with 8 tackles each, and Isaac Yiadom with 7 tackles.

Talanoa Hufanga, & Fred Warner had 6 tackles each, followed by Malik Mustapha, & Renardo Green with 2 tackles each.

Sack wise, Bosa had the 49ers 2 sacks, bringing him up to 9 on the year.

TFL wise, the 49ers had 7, 4 by Bosa, and 1 by Warner, Maliek Collins, and Yetur Gross-Matos.

PBU wise, the 49ers had just 1, which was by Green.

Special teams wise, it was atrocious, as I mentioned Jake Moody missed his only 2 field goal attempts, a 51-yarder, and a 58-yarder, while also missing an extra point, going 4/5 on extra points, there were no punts by either side, so nothing on Pat O’Donnell, & Samuel had 4 kick returns for 1287 kick return yards.

Overall, the 49ers came out roaring, scored on their opening drive, went down the field on 4 impressive drives for touchdowns, plus the Dobbs touchdown towards the end of the game, but the defense got gashed, giving up not just 303 passing yards, but also 152 rushing yards, and again Jake Moody looked bad, it may be time for the 49ers to make a change at kicker, as Moody has not looked the same since his week 5 high ankle sprain.

Up next for the 49ers is their 2024-2025 season finale, in Arizona, against the Cardinals, this Sunday at 1:25pm pacific/4:25pm eastern, which will be televised on FOX, with that said, I thank you for reading, and follow me on X/Twitter @49erscap, & on Blue Sky App @49erscap.bsky.social.
