49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan just had his press conference, and we have this weeks injury report for the 49ers game in Buffalo against the Bills on Sunday Night, the 49ers will be without 5 starters, the full list is below.
Out:
LG Aaron Banks (Concussion)
LT Trent Williams (Ankle)
DE Nick Bosa (Hip & Oblique)
DT Jordan Elliott (Concussion)
WLB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles)
CB Deommodore Lenoir (Knee)
Questionable:
QB Brock Purdy (Shoulder)
WR Chris Conley (Knee)
DT Kevin Givens (Groin)
SLB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (Knee)
CB Renardo Green (Neck)
Boy oh boy, the 49ers will be without 2 of their starting offensive lineman, so expect them to elevate right tackle/left tackle Sebastian Gutierrez, as he has experience at both tackle spots, as well as some work at left guard while he was in training camp with the 49ers.
With Bosa out, the 49ers will likely go with the same 4 edge rushers as last week, Leonard Floyd, Yetur Gross-Matos, Sam Okuyinonu, & Robert Beal Jr., while on the interior defensive line, with Elliott out, & Givens questionable, the 49ers have 4 healthy interior defensive lineman, Maliek Collins, Kalia Davis, Evan Anderson, & Khalil Davis, so they could, but likely won’t, elevate nose tackle Nesta Jade Silvera from the practice squad.
With Lenoir out, & Green Questionable, I expect the 49ers to once again elevate cornerback Nick McCloud, as they only, as of now, have Charvarius Ward, Isaac Yiadom, & Rock Ya-Sin healthy at the cornerback spot, but my gut says Green will play Sunday night.
With Conley questionable, the 49ers won’t need to elevate any of their 3 wide receivers, Trent Taylor, Terique Owens, & Russell Gage from the practice squad, as they have 5 healthy receivers, Deebo Samuel Sr., Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, Jacob Cowing, & Ronnie Bell.
The 49ers will be without Greenlaw, as he’s still on reserve/PUP with the torn achilles suffered in the Super Bowl, and with Flannigan-Fowles is questionable, the 49ers would have to either elevate or sign middle linebacker Jalen Graham off of the practice squad, but it’s more likely Flannigan-Fowles plays this week, as the team has Fred Warner, De’Vondre Campbell Sr., Dee Winters, & Tatum Bethune healthy at linebacker.
Finally, if Purdy can’t go, the 49ers won’t be able to elevate quarterback Tanner Mordecai as the emergency 3rd QB, as the rule states that the emergency 3rd QB has to be on the teams’ 53-man roster.
