The 49ers today signed place kicker Matthew Wright to a 1-year deal, which should be worth $985,000, if he has 2 accrued years, with a $711,389 salary cap number.

The Wright signing comes after the 49ers normal place kicker/kick off specialist Jake Moody suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals late in the 1st-half, and will miss multiple weeks.

In other injury news, Kyle Shanahan has stated that stronside linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles won’t play in Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, while wide receivers Chris Conley, & Jacob Cowing are considered day-to-day.

We also learned from Shanahan that defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, who was placed on injured reserve, will miss 4-8 weeks, while Talanoa Hufanga will miss a month, as he has torn ligaments in his hand, which he suffered in this past Sunday’s game.

I’d expect the 49ers to either put Hufanga on injured reserve, & re-sign strong safety/free safety Tracy Walker III, either to the 53-man roster, or the practice squad, but since Walker has already been elevated twice this season, it’s more likely the 49ers add him to the 53-man roster, since a practice squad player can only be elevated 3 times in 1 season.

There’s also the possibility that the 49ers elevate or promote free safety/strong safety Jaylen Mahoney to the 53-man roster, as he’s been elevated once this season.

With the Wright signing, the 49ers now have a full 53-man roster, and lastly, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall won’t be activated ahead of Thursday’s game, and with that said, I thank you for reading, and you can follow me on X/Twitter @49erscap.
