The 49ers have officially released their injury report for their week 4 game against the New England Patriots, with 7 players listed as either questionable, or out for Sunday’s game.
Out:
NT Javon Hargrave (Triceps)
MLB Curtis Robinson (Knee)
Questionable:
WR Deebo Samuel Sr. (Calf)
LT Trent Williams (Illness & Toe)
DT Jordan Elliott (Foot)
WLB Dee Winters (Ankle)
SS Talanoa Hufanga (Ankle)
The 49ers will most certainly place both Hargrave, & Robinson on injured reserve tomorrow, before the 1pm pacific/4pm eastern deadline for roster moves to be made for week 4, which will give the 49ers 3 open roster spots on their 53-man active roster.
If Samuel can’t go, then I’d expect the 49ers to just have 5 wide receivers active like last week, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, Chris Conley, Jacob Cowing, & Ronnie Bell, while if Williams can’t go, then I’d expect the 49ers to elevate practice squad left tackle/right tackle Chris Hubbard.
If Elliott can’t go, then I’d expect the 49ers elevate either T.Y. McGill Jr., Evan Anderson, or Shakel Brown, with the likelihood that McGill is signed to the 53-man roster, so it would come down to Anderson or Brown.
As for if Winters misses the game, then expect practice squad linebacker DaShaun White to be elevated, while if Hufanga can’t go, then the 49ers would either go with just 3 safeties, while having cornerback Darrell Luter Jr. active, or elevate Jaylen Mahoney, or re-sign Tracy Walker III to the practice squad, & elevate him again, which would be his 3rd and final time he can elevated from the practice squad.
