According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 49ers will be placing running back Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, meaning he will have to miss at least 4 games.
This is a huge loss for the 49ers, but hopefully McCaffrey’s injury will heal up, and with the emergence of Jordan Mason, plus Deebo Samuel Sr. in the backfield, the 49ers should be fine for the foreseeable future, but the 49ers do need a heathy McCaffrey for the stretch run, so we wish him nothing but the best, and await his return.
ESPN sources: 49ers officially are placing All-Pro RB Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve due to his calf tightness and Achilles tendinitis. McCaffrey now will miss the next four games, at least, before the team assesses whether he can return in mid-October. pic.twitter.com/VV9GRihDrL
