According to Ari Meirov, the 49ers, & All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams have agreed to a restructured 3-year, $82.66 million deal, with $48 million in fully guaranteed money, including a $25.69 million signing bonus, which should prorate over 5-years at $5.138 million from 2024-2028.
If Williams lowered his base salary down the league minimum of $1.21 million, along with keeping his $750,000 per game roster bonus, but eliminated his $100,000 workout bonus, as he didn’t earn it anyway, his 2024 salary cap number should go from $31,568,542 to $17,766,542, saving the 49ers $13.802 million in cap room for the 2024 season, which would put the 49ers current salary cap room for 2024 at $42,985,313.
I’m expecting that the 49ers also saved some cap room in 2025, but that remains to be seen/confirmed yet.
