The 49ers earlier today announced that they reached an extension with star running back Christian McCaffrey on a 2-year, $38 million deal, and thanks to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, we have his terms.

He got a $14.29 million signing bonus, plus a $1.21 million 2024 base salary, a $1.255 million 2025 base salary, a $1.3 million 2026 base salary, & a $16.85 million 2027 base salary, he also has a $14.245 million option bonus due by April 1, 2025, with $8.5 million of it being fully guaranteed, and a $10.55 million option bonus due in 2026.

He also has yearly $500,000 per game roster bonuses starting this year, and a $200,000 workout bonuses in 2025, and $150,000 workout bonuses in 2026 & 2027.

If the numbers are indeed correct, and the 49ers put void years in to maximize the cap savings, the 49ers should have saved $7.232 million in cap room in 2024, & $4.538 million in 2025.
