49ers restructure Fred Warner’s contract

According to Matt Barrows, the 49ers restructured the contract of Fred Warner last week, turning a significant amount of his base salary into a signing bonus.

The team likely added on void years to save the maximum savings of $11.34 million.

Per source, the 49ers restructured Fred Warner’s contract last week, converting a sizeable portion of his base salary into bonuses. That ought to create some salary-cap cushion as free agency begins in earnest at 9 a.m. today (15 minutes from now).
