49ers signing former Chiefs 2nd-round pick DE Breeland Speaks, place CB Anthony Averett on IR

The 49ers are signing former Chiefs 2nd-round pick defensive end Breeland Speaks, this according to Aaron Wilson, and they’ve placed cornerback Anthony Averett on IR.

Speaks led the USFL with 9 sacks for the Michigan Panthers, so let’s see what DL coach Kris Kocurek can do with Speaks.
