Yesterday I went over what the 49ers 2023 salary cap situation would look like if the 49ers restructured Arik Armstead, Fred Warner, & Charvarius Ward’s contracts.

If the 49ers do restructure those 3 players I mentioned, their cap room, under a projected $256 million salary cap, would be $44,287,379 with 27 players signed, or $25,207,379 with 51 players signed, and this doesn’t include Taybor Pepper’s new contract.

Below are the 27 players, with what would be their 2024 salary cap numbers.

  1. DT 91 Arik Armstead(2024)- $28,811,000
  2. WR 19 Deebo Samuel(2025)- $28,572,000
  3. LT 71 Trent Williams(2026)- $28,009,777
  4. MLB 54 Fred Warner(2026)- $24,469,000
  5. TE 85 George Kittle(2025)- $19,842,575
  6. CB 7 Charvarius Ward(2024)- $17,901,000
  7. RB 23 Christian McCaffrey(2025)- $12,000,000
  8. QB 5 Trey Lance(2024)- $10,851,673
  9. WLB 57 Dre Greenlaw(2024)- $9,632,382
  10. FB 44 Kyle Juszcyzk(2025)- $7,588,750
  11. P 18 Mitch Wishnowsky(2026)- $2,825,000
  12. LG 65 Aaron Banks(2024)- $2,250,694
  13. SS 30 George Odum(2024)- $1,625,000
  14. DE 95 Drake Jackson(2025)- $1,590,561
  15. CB 20 Ambry Thomas(2024)- $1,425,154
  16. RB 32 Tyrion Davis-Price(2025)- $1,393,240
  17. WR 6 Danny Gray(2025)- $1,375,883
  18. RG 74 Spencer Burford(2025)- $1,153,014
  19. RT 76 Jaylon Moore(2024)- $1,135,759
  20. CB 38 Deommodore Lenoir(2024)- $1,126,217
  21. SS 29 Talanoa Hufanga(2024)- $1,115,038
  22. RB 25 Elijah Mitchell(2024)- $1,100,893
  23. CB 26 Samuel Womack III(2025)- $1,055,831
  24. LG 63 Nick Zakelj(2025)- $1,032,590
  25. NT 93 Kalia Davis(2025)- $1,018,003
  26. QB 13 Brock Purdy(2025)- $1,004,253
  27. RB 24 Jordan Mason(2024)- $988,334

Now, the 49ers have a decision to make on Brandon Aiyuk, & Javon Kinlaw’s 5th-year options, with Aiyuk’s being worth $14.124 million, & Kinlaw’s being worth $10.555 million, and it’s likely that Kinlaw’s will be declined, while Aiyuk’s should be a lock to be exercised, which would put the team $30,163,379 under a projected $256 million salary cap with 28 players signed, not including Taybor Pepper, as his details aren’t in, yet, while they’d be $11,878,379 under with 51 players signed.

This also doesn’t include any potential re-signings, outside free agent signings, or 2023 draft picks from this offseason, but the 49ers will have options to create cap room, with a simple restructure of Deebo Samuel’s deal, which would save the team $15,877,600 in salary cap room.

The 49ers will also likely want to extend Arik Armstead, Dre Greenlaw, & Charvarius Ward, which would save the team $12.96 million for Armstead, $5.58 million for Greenlaw, and $9.148 million for Ward, which would be a total of $27.688 million, which combined with a Samuel restructure, would give the 49ers $43,565,600 in extra salary cap room for 2024.

Again, these don’t include any re-signings, outside signings, or 2023 draft picks for this offseason, but the 49ers will be just fine when it comes to their 2024 salary cap, even if they do restructure all 3 of the players I mentioned in the beginning.

This also doesn’t include Nick Bosa’s pending extension, which should take up between $12 million to $14 million in 2024 salary cap room, in my opinion, so they’d still have over $29.565 million in extra cap room.

The last thing I want to mention is that Jauan Jennings will be a restricted free agent in 2024, and if the cap is indeed $256 million, he would likely get the 2nd-round tender, which would be worth $4.901 million.

Also, the 49ers will have the base salaries of several 2021 draft picks increase due to the Proven Performance Escalator, those will likely be Aaron Banks, Deommodore Lenoir, and Elijah Mitchell, while Talanoa Hufanga already is guaranteed to see his 2024 base salary escalate, as he was named to the Pro Bowl this past season, which means his salary will go up to the 2nd-round tender, which would, again, be worth $4.901 million, while the other 3 would likely get the original round tender, which isn’t known just yet, as OverTheCap.com doesn’t have the original round tender number listed.

So, I hope people will be relieved that the 49ers won’t have any issues in 2024, even if they do sign a couple players to splashy contracts this offseason.

As always, thank you for reading, and follow me on Twitter @49erscap for more salary cap information, & tidbits.
