The 49ers made a blockbuster trade tonight, as they sent their 2023 2nd, 3rd, & 4th-round picks, and a 2024 5th-round pick to the Carolina Panthers, in exchange for running back Christian McCaffrey, so let’s look at his contract.

In 2022 the 49ers only owe him $690,000, which is 12 weeks worth of his $1.035 million base salary.

In 2023 & 2024 McCaffrey has $11.8 million base salaries, & $200,000 workout bonuses, and in 2025 he has a $12 million base salary, & a $200,000 workout bonus.

His contract breakdown is below.

2022- $690,000

2023- $12 million ($11.8 million base salary, & $200,000 workout bonus)

2024- $12 million ($11.8 million base salary, & $200,000 workout bonus)

2025- $12.2 million ($12 million base salary, & $200,000 workout bonus)

The 49ers now sit with around $4.538 million in cap room for 2022.
