So, the NFL is hosting it’s annual owners meetings, and some interesting 49ers information/news has come out, and that is, that it appears defensive end Dee Ford’s days as a 49er are numbered, as ESPN’s Nick Wagoner reports via a John Lynch quote that Ford will likely be released before training camp.
If/when the 49ers move on from Ford, they’ll save $1.12 million, while taking on a dead money hit of $5,829,997 in 2022, & $8,589,999 in 2023, as the 49ers can’t release Ford before June 2nd, unless they designate him as a Post June 1 cut, which each team is allowed to do with 2 players each year.
No surprise but sounds very unlikely DE Dee Ford will be back with #49ers next season. GM John Lynch: "I don’t see a lot of hope in him being a factor for us on the field moving forward." Ford's back injury just hasn't progressed to give Niners belief a return is possible.

If this is the end of Dee Ford’s time with the 49ers, we wish him the best.
