With the NFL’s new league year now in day 5, let’s look at the remaining key dates on the schedule for the NFL, & 49ers.
March 21, 2022- Deadline for the 49ers to exercise Fred Warner’s 2026 contract year, with a $12.86 million option bonus due, which would prorate at $2.572 million from 2022-2026, if not exercised Warner’s base salary goes from $2.564 million, to $15.424 million, while his cap number would go from $8,134,588 to $18,422,588.
April 1, 2022- The following players have either part of their base salary, or all of it guaranteed for 2022, or 2023, plus players who have roster bonuses or option bonuses due.
- FB Kyle Juszczyk – $2.115 million option bonus due, prorates at $583,750 from 2022-2025, which is already factored into his 2022-2025 salary cap numbers.
- TE George Kittle – $4.917 million of his 2023 base salary becomes fully guaranteed, as the remaining $6.733 million was fully guaranteed at signing.
- C Alex Mack – $500,000 of his 2022 base salary becomes fully guaranteed.
- LT Trent Williams – $5.05 million of his 2023 base salary becomes fully guaranteed, while his 2022 base salary, $7.25 million, was fully guaranteed at signing.
- MLB Fred Warner – $984,000 of his 2022 base salary becomes fully guaranteed, as the remaining $1.58 million was fully guaranteed at signing.
- CB Emmanuel Moseley – His $4.4 million 2022 base salary becomes fully guaranteed.
April 18, 2022 – Teams with returning head coaches, like the 49ers, may begin their offseason workout program, while April 4, 2022 is when teams with new head coaches may start their offseason workout program.
April 22, 2022 – Deadline for Restricted Free Agents to sign offer sheets with other teams.
April 28-April 30, 2022 – The 2022 NFL Draft Takes Place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
May 2, 2022 – Teams must exercise or decline 5th-year options for 1st-round picks from the 2019 NFL draft, for the 49ers this is Nick Bosa, who will get the franchise tag number, which is projected by OverTheCap.com to be $17.869 million, which would be Bosa’s 2023 salary cap number, which also becomes fully guaranteed the moment the option is picked up.
July 28, 2022 – Nick Bosa’s $4,305,225 roster bonus is due on the 3rd day of training camp.
July 28, 2022 – Trey Lance’s $1,385,239 roster bonus is due on the 3rd day of training camp.
Now, below are players who already have their 2022 base salaries guaranteed, either partial, or all.
- QB Trey Lance – $825,000
- QB Nate Sudfeld – $2,000,000
- FB Kyle Juszcyzk – $1,120,000
- WR Brandon Aiyuk – $1,749,214
- TE George Kittle – $1,035,000
- LG Aaron Banks – $981,528
- LT Trent Williams – $7,250,000
- RT Mike McGlinchey – $10,880,000
- DE Nick Bosa – $895,000
- DT Arik Armstead – $1,120,000
- DT Javon Kinlaw – $2,018,064
- NT Hassan Ridgeway – $650,000
- MLB Fred Warner – $1,580,000
- MLB Oren Burks – $1,035,000 (Unconfirmed)
- CB Charvarius Ward – $1,035,000
- PK Robbie Gould – $4,000,000
Of course, when we get details of wide receiver/returner Ray-Ray McCloud, & strong safety George Odum’s contracts, we’ll be adding those to the list, as they definitely have some, if not all, of their 2022 base salaries guaranteed.
