With the offseason underway, we’re 6 days into the free agent frenzy, 4 days into the new league years, and with the 49ers adding 5 players, it’s time to take a quick look at the 49ers current 2022 cap outlook.

The following players are still unrestricted free agents.
RB Jeff Wilson Jr.
WR Travis Benjamin
WR Richie James Jr.
WR Mohamed Sanu Sr.
TE Ross Dwelley
DE Arden Key
DE Jordan Willis
WLB Marcell Harris
CB Jason Verrett
CB K’Waun Williams
CB Josh Norman
CB Dontae Johnson
FS Tavon Wilson
SS Jaquiski Tartt
Of the above, I’d think that the 49ers would try to bring back running back Jeff Wilson Jr., defensive ends Arden Key, & Jordan Willis, and cornerbacks Jason Verrett, K’Waun Williams, & Dontae Johnson.
I can’t imagine these players being that expensive, also I can see the 49ers going after defensive ends Kerry Hyder Jr., & Carlos Dunlap, who were both released by the Seahawks, Hyder was with the 49ers in 2020.
As for the 49ers future salary cap, they have the following.
2023- $63,858,801 ($41,358,801 top 51) on a $225 million cap
2024- $116,612,343 ($88,787,343 top 51) on a $256 million cap
2025- $190,582,250 ($151,102,250 top 51) on a $280 million cap
2026- $242,871,000 ($199,506,000 top 51) on a $300 million cap
The 2023 & 2024 numbers again don’t include Odum, and McCloud, hopefully we see their terms soon, but I’m still 100% confident that the 49ers will extend not just Deebo Samuel, & Nick Bosa this offseason, but also Brandon Aiyuk in 2023.
