Earlier in the day we heard from ESPN’s Field Yates, that the 49ers restructured George Kittle, & Arik Armstead’s deals, creating $18.756 million in salary cap room.
I currently have the 49ers, before knowing the Charvarius Ward, & Oren Burks contract details, $9,067,615 under their 2022 adjusted cap.
But, they also have options to create more cap room, besides trading Jimmy Garoppolo, as yesterday I went over how the 49ers can operate with him on the roster.
So, the options that the 49ers have are below.
They can restructure the contracts of left tackle Trent Williams($4.904 million savings), & middle linebacker Fred Warner($1,223,200 saved).
They can also extend the likes of defensive end Samson Ebukam($3.892 million savings), cornerback Emmanuel Moseley($2.692 million savings), & free safety Jimmie Ward($6.224 million savings).
They can also look into redoing or extending right tackle Mike McGlinchey($7.876 million savings), but that seems unlikely, as it’d leave $7.876 million in dead money for the 2023 season, like if the 49ers restructured Ward’s contract, it’d leave $6.224 million in dead money in 2023, on top of the $6.395 million already set to count next year.
Anyway, I thank you for reading, if you have questions, comment below, or follow me on Twitter, @49erscap.
