According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the 49ers have restructured the contract of defensive end Dee Ford, saving $4.96 million, which likely means he’ll be a 49er in 2022.
The 49ers are currently, before their RFAs are signed/tenders, $9,639,385 over their 2022 adjusted cap, with the reported $4.96 million, they should know be, before the Ward signing, $4,679,385 over the 2022 salary cap.
The 49ers restructured the contract of DE Dee Ford, creating $4.96M in 2022 cap space (voidable years added), per source.
Ford has been limited by injury since arriving in San Francisco, but picked up 3.0 sacks in 6 games played last year.
