So the 49ers recently agreed to terms with free agents linebacker James Burgess, who was last playing for the Packers in 2020, while they will also be hosting tight end MyCole Pruitt this coming week, so I’ve decided to refresh my projected roster for 2021, and here it is below.

This roster projection would leave the 49ers with just $6,071,506 in cap room to begin the 2021 season, while as I’ve stated before, they need around $3 million to extend Fred Warner, and around $5 million for in season roster moves, so someone may have to be restructured, especially if they actually do trade for Julio Jones.

Again the top candidates are Arik Armstead($4.528 million saved), and Laken Tomlinson($2.808 million saved), which would free up a total of $7.336 million, which would give the 49ers $10,407,506 in cap room, but it does add $1.132 million to Armstead’s future cap numbers, and an extra $2.808 million in dead money for 2022 for Tomlinson.

I won’t go over everything that I usually go over, but the 49ers would be around $841,150 under the 2022 cap of $208.2 million when factoring in the top 51 rule, now that will go up by $24.895 million when they part ways with Jimmy Garoppolo, giving them around $25,736,150 in cap room, but take away a potential $5.5 million for a Warner extension, well actually $4.795 million due to the top 51 rule, giving them $20,941,150 to start 2022 if they don’t redo anyone this year, or $17,001,150 if they redo Armstead & Tomlinson.

As always thank you for reading, you can follow me on Twitter @49erscap, or leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you.
