The 49ers went into Houston and got outplayed by the Texans in a 26-15 loss to them in a game where the team just didn’t look good at all, a game where Mac Jones went 19/32 for 193 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, that ended the game, and 23 rushing yards on 2 carries.

Christian McCaffrey couldn’t get it going on the ground as he ended up with just 25 rushing yards on 8 carries, along with 43 receiving yards on 3 catches.

Jauan Jennings led the way for the 49ers receiving wise with 45 receiving yards on 4 catches, including a nice 25-yarder that set up a Jake Tonges receiving touchdown early in the 2nd half.

Kendrick Bourne had 44 receiving yards on 3 catches, followed by George Kittle with 43 receiving yards on 4 catches and a receiving touchdown.

On defense, Tatum Bethune led the way with 14 tackles, followed by Malik Mustapha with 12 tackles, Dee Winters had 11 tackles, and Upton Stout had 9 tackles.

Renardo Green, Curtis Robinson each had 7 tackles, while Ji’Ayir Brown & Robert Beal Jr. each had 5 tackles, followed by Deommodore Lenoir, Sam Okuayinonu, & Mykel Williams each with 3 tackles.

TFL wise the 49ers had 3, 1 each for Mustapha, Robinson, & Brown.

PBU wise, the 49ers had 2, 1 each for Lenoir, & Kalia Davis.

Lenoir had the 49ers first interception of the season, and the team had no sacks, as the pass rush was non-existent.

Special teams wise Eddy Piniero went 2/2 on extra points, with no field goal attempts, Thomas Morstead had 5 punts for 238-yards, with 3 of them falling inside the 20-yard line, while Brian Robinson Jr. had 99 kick return yards on 3 kick returns, and Skyy Moore had 52 kick return yards on 2 kick returns.

Overall the 49ers got manhandled, the defense looked bad early on, the offense was non-existent, as was the pass rush, next up for the 49ers is a trip to New Jersey to face the New York Giants next Sunday at 10am pacific/1pm eastern on CBS, and with that said, as always, thank you for reading, you can follow me on X/Twitter @49erscap & on Blue Sky App @49erscap.bsky.social
