UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Eagles restructured Huff’s deal this week, turning $9.05 million of his compensation into a signing bonus, so the 49ers will only take on a fully guaranteed $7.7 million base salary, & a $250,000 workout bonus for a $7.95 million cap number, as for 2026, it should be unchanged, so the 49ers take on his $1.215 million base salary, a $1 million roster bonus, a $250,000 workout bonus, plus the $14.635 million option bonus, which would mean a $5.392 million 2026 cap number, with $11.708 million in dead money in 2027.

According to FOX 29 Philly, the 49ers have agreed to a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to get defensive end Bryce Huff, who hadn’t been at voluntary workouts for the Eagles.

Huff has 2-year left on his contract, with base salaries of $1.17 million in 2025, & $1.215 million in 2026, there are also option bonuses of $15.58 million in 2025, which is fully guaranteed & must be exercised by the beginning of the 2025 season, & $14.635 million in 2026, which must be exercised by the start the 2026 regular season, along with a $1 million roster bonus due in 2026 by the 3rd day of the new league year next March, and he also has $250,000 workout bonuses in both 2025 & 2026.

It’s unclear how much the 49ers are taking on, since those option bonuses prorate over 5 years each, as there are 4 voids years in his deal already, which means the 49ers would would be paying Huff the following, cap wise, in 2025, & 2026.

2025: $4.536 million ($1.17 million base salary, $3.116 million prorated from 2025 option bonus, & $250,000 workout bonus)

2026: $8.508 million ($1.215 million base salary, $3.116 million prorated from 2025 option bonus, $2.927 million prorated from 2026 option bonus, $1 million roster bonus, & $250,000 workout bonus)

2027: $21.056 million dead money hit

It’s unclear if the Eagles will take on any of Huff’s money due, mainly the option bonuses, and what the 49ers will be sending in draft pick compensation, but it can’t be more than a day 3 pick.
