The 49ers made several roster moves today to go down from 80 players to 53 players, so let’s take a look at who was let go, and what the initial 53-man roster looks like.
The 49ers released the following players.

The 49ers placed RB Jeff Wilson Jr., & FS Tarvarius Moore on the reserve/PUP list, while they also placed LT Shon Coleman on injured reserve, which ends his season, while they also placed DE Jordan Willis on the reserve/Suspended By Commissioner list, and lastly they traded MLB Jonas Griffith, & a 2022 7th-Round pick to the Denver Broncos for a 2022 6th-Round Pick, and a 2023 7th-Round Pick.

With these 60 players under contract, the 49ers at the moment, have $6,323,646 in salary cap room, but that will go down by $3.168 million when the team signs their practice squad tomorrow, giving them $3,155,646.
But that $3,155,646 will also go down when the 49ers place Maurice Hurst Jr. on short term IR, while replacing him with one of the players they cut, likely someone making $850,000.
I believe it’s very possible that the 49ers release Richie James Jr., & Shon Coleman from IR with injury settlements, as they’re taking up $920,000, & $990,000 respectively, for a total of $1.91 million in salary cap room.
