The 49ers have officially opened the 21-day practice window for strong safety Talanoa Hufanga, who has missed a total of 10 games this year, mostly due to torn ligaments in his wrist suffered earlier this season.

It’ll be interesting to see how they ease Hufanga back in, that’s if he is activated, and with the 49ers still yet to place running back Jordan Mason on injured reserve, they’ll have an open roster spot once they do so.

Of course, the 49ers could fill that spot with a linebacker, as Dre Greenlaw, the teams star weakside linebacker, had his 21-day practice window opened last week, and will practice this week, so he could take the place of Mason on the 53.
