49ers officially place RB Christian McCaffrey on IR, claim RB Israel Abanikanda off waivers, sign WR Ronnie Bell to the practice squad

The 49ers made a series of roster moves today, as they’ve officially placed running back Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, with what is likely a season-ending PCL injury, while they also claimed running back Israel Abanikanda off waivers from the Jets, and signed wide receiver Ronnie Bell to their practice squad.

Also the 49ers are expected to place running back Jordan Mason on injured reserve, along with defensive tackle Kevin Givens, while promoting running back Patrick Taylor Jr. to the 53-man roster.
