Kyle Shanahan earlier today let everyone know the statuses of several 49ers players’ health/injuries, and let’s go over them all.
First off center/right guard Jon Feliciano is done for the 2024 season, as he won’t be activated off of injured reserve, since his knee didn’t respond like the 49ers & he had hoped it would.
Staying on the offensive line, left guard Aaron Banks is in concussion protocol, while right guard Dominick Puni will have an MRI done on his shoulder, both players got hurt in yesterday’s loss to the Packers.
Good news, sorta, as left tackle Trent Williams, with the ankle injury, & defensive end Nick Bosa, with a hip & oblique injury are considered day-t0-day, as are cornerback Renardo Green & strongside linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, Green with a neck injury, and Flannigan-Fowles with a knee injury, both suffered in yesterday’s game.
Good news, the 49ers will open the 21-day practice window for weakside linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who is on reserve/PUP, after tearing his achilles in the Super Bowl, and he won’t be on the field unless he’s 100%, this according to fellow colleague Brad Graham, who has a great insight on both the 49ers & the offensive line, so check him out.
Also set to get an MRI is Deommodore Lenoir, as he hurt his knee in yesterday’s game, so hopefully his MRI, & Puni’s results come back negative.
The best news of the day is that quarterback Brock Purdy, who missed yesterday’s game due to a shoulder injury, has resumed throwing without issue, this according to Kyle Shanahan.
