During yesterday’s practice, the 49ers suffered a few injuries, while also seeing some players return, with Deebo Samuel Sr., & George Kittle both returning to practice, while Jordan Elliott & Curtis Robinson, both were carted off, while Elliott returned to practice today, the bad news is that Robinson, a key special teamer, has suffered a season-ending torn ACL.
The 49ers will most likely replace Robinson on the 53-man roster, with either practice squad linebacker DaShaun White, or signing someone off the street, but they do have 5 healthy linebackers as of now, starters Fred Warner, De’Vondre Campbell, & Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, along with backups/special teamers Dee Winters, & Tatum Bethune.
I guess it’s possible that the 49ers go & sign one of their former 2023 draft picks, Jalen Graham, who is on the Washington Commanders practice squad, but the 49ers are patiently awaiting the return of Dre Greenlaw, who suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, and has been on reserve/PUP since the beginning of the season.
In addition to having Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, and the pending placements of both Javon Hargrave, & Robinson, the 49ers will have 3 open roster spots on their 53-man active roster to fill.
