We’re continuing the  9-part series where I rank each player, from 1-91, & of course today we’re ranking players 41-50.

Note: The reason I’m doing 91 is because the 49ers are able to carry Alfredo Gutierrez on their roster without him counting against the 90-man limit.

50. TE 9 Brayden Willis(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $769,975

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Willis is a lock to me, whether the team keeps 3 or 4 tight ends, Willis will be among those tight ends, he is a good blocker, and has good hands.

49. NT 93 Kalia Davis(2025)

2023 Cap Number: $783,003

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: I have Davis as a lock, as he’s the only other backup NT in my eyes, plus he’s just a good overall player, I expect him to be apart of the defensive line rotation.

48. SLB 40 Marcelino McCrary-Ball(2023)

2023 Cap Number: $750,000

Chance of making Roster: 50/50

Analysis: McCrary-Ball will have to fight it out with Jalen Graham, Dee Winters, & Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles for a spot on this roster, and I like his chances.

47. SLB 53 Dee Winters(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $1,800,000

Chance of making Roster: 50/50

Analysis: I have Winters making the 2023 roster, but he’ll have to compete for his spot, with the likes of fellow rookie Jalen Graham, and veteran Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles.

46. DE 33 Robert Beal Jr.(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $811,245

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: I have Beal as a lock to make the 2023 roster, because while he didn’t get enough playing time at Georgia, because 1. The roster was stacked, and 2. He did produce despite being a rotational player, the 49ers found themselves a gem, who runs in the 4.4’s.

45. CB Darrell Luter Jr.(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $828,378

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers drafted Luter withb the 155th-overall pick, and I love this kid, great instincts, has a chance to be a key contributor in 2023, and this was a pick in the money round, the 5th-round.

44. DT 96 T.Y. McGill Jr.(2023)

2023 Cap Number: $940,000

Chance of making Roster: 50/50

Analysis: McGill was a pleasant surprise this past season, when all the injuries on the interior defensive line happened, he came in, and played really well, so it’ll be interesting to see if the 49ers keep him, Hyder, or another player as a potential 11th-defensive lineman.

43. DE 92 Kerry Hyder Jr.(2023)

2023 Cap Number: $940,000

Chance of making Roster: 50/50

Analysis: I love Hyder, but with the pick of Robert Beal Jr., I don’t view Hyder as a lock, he should make the practice squad at worst, but if the team goes with 11 defensive lineman, then it’s down to Hyder, & T.Y. McGill Jr., who got $400,000 fully guaranteed.

42. TE 81 Cameron Latu(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $964,378

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers made Latu the 101st-overall pick, and I really like how Latu is built, and just his toughness, he’s going to be a great compliment to George Kittle in my eyes.

41. PK 4 Jake Moody(2026)

2023 Cap Number: $964,378

Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers surprised everyone when they selected Moody with the 99th-overall pick, but I’m not mad by this pick, as I see Moody as a game changer in the special teams department, so I expect big things from Moody, not just in 2023, but for the next 10+ years.
