The 49ers are weighing their options for defensive coordinator, as Vic Fangio, once thought to be the 49ers top choice, or front runner has agreed to be the Miami Dolphins new defensive coordinator.
According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, the 49ers are weighing their options, with former Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks, Commanders defensive backs coach Chris Harris, and even current 49ers defensive line coach Kris Kocurek being options.
I can also see them looking into a few other assistants to be defensive coordinator, like linebackers coach Johnny Holland, safeties coach Daniel Bullocks, and secondary/defensive pass game specialist Cory Undlin, who is getting attention from DeMeco Ryans, and the Houston Texans.
So it will be interesting to see who the next defensive coordinator of the 49ers will be.
#49ers are committed to having a true process of vetting their next hire at defensive coordinator, even with Vic Fangio's vast resume, per league source.
The #49ers are still evaluating candidates including Chris Harris, Steve Wilks & the possibility of promoting Kris Kocurek.
