With the 49ers week 2 preseason game mere hours away, I wanted look at what I’m most looking for in tonight’s matchup.

I was so impressed with Nate Sudfeld, and Brock Purdy, so I need to see both out there, see how good both can be, especially Purdy as a future #2 QB.

With the injury to Trey Sermon, I really want to see more of Tyrion Davis-Price, JaMycal Hasty, & Jordan Mason, see who the standout of the 3 backs might be, and who might make the team, especially if Sermon’s ankle injury lands him on short term injured reserve.

More Danny Gray please, the speedster from SMU looked really good last week, so I want to see more of him, as well as Ray-Ray McCloud III, as well as vets like Malik Turner, Marcus Johnson, & Willie Snead IV, basically to see if any of these 3 vets can win a roster spot.

At tight end I want to see more of Tanner Hudson, who had a nice touchdown catch, which clinched the game for the 49ers over the Packers, as well as Tyler Kroft, as well as seeing some improvement from Ross Dwelley, who needs a good showing to lock up a spot.

I really want to see the interior offensive line, center Jake Brendel, left guard Aaron Banks, & right guard Spencer Burford, who all looked really good in the 49ers preseason win over the Packers, but I want to see more of them, and just see how well they play as a unit.

We need to see some improvement from the tackles, Colton McKivitz, Justin Skule, & Sam Schlueter, all who didn’t look good last week, we need to see improvement, especially with injuries to both Jaylon Moore, & Mike McGlinchey.

On defense I want to see more of Kemoko Turay at defensive end, as well as Jordan Willis, as I think we could see the 49ers carry 11 defensive linemen on their 53-man roster.

Linebacker wise, I want to see more of Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, as well as standout Marcelino McCrary-Ball, as I can envision a trade happening, as I don’t think both pass waivers, but that might just be me.

As for the defensive backfield, I want to see improvement from Ambry Thomas, & Deommodore Lenoir at cornerback, along with seeing Tariq Castro-Fields, & Qwuantrezz Knight play, as for safety, we need to see improvement from Tarvarius Moore, who was burned on a touchdown last week against the Packers, and of course I want to see more of Samuel Womack III, because he looks like a 5th-round gem, a steal of the 2022 draft.

As for the special teams/special teamers, I want to see more of George Odum, & Oren Burks, both on special teams, and defense, as both looked terrific last week, so hopefully we see more good play from these 2.

And there you have it, what I’m most looking forward to seeing in the 49ers preseason week 2 game in Minnesota.
