Today we end our 9-part series where I rank each player, from 1-91, & of course today we end up ranking players 1-10.

Note: The reason I’m doing 91 is because the 49ers are able to carry Alfredo Gutierrez on their roster without him counting against the 90-man limit.

  1. CB 35 Charvarius Ward(2024)

2022 Cap Number: $3,800,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers prized free agent addition, Ward was one of the top cornerbacks available, and the 49ers got him on a 3-year deal, worth $13.5 million a year, and he’s only gotten better, & better each year, so expect him to be the teams’ #1 cornerback.

  1. FS 1 Jimmie Ward(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $12,935,588
Chance of making Roster:
Lock

Analysis: Jimmie is one of the most underrated safeties in the NFL, he is also the teams’ best cover-man, he isn’t a big INT guy, but he’s a playmaker on defense, a hard hitter, good tackler, so he’ll be here in 2022, as for 2023, that’s another question to be answered another day.

  1. FB 44 Kyle Juszyzck(2025)

2022 Cap Number: $2,958,750
Chance of making Roster:
Lock

Analysis: Juice is more than a fullback, he’s a pure weapon, so versatile, as he can run with the ball, catch it, lineup at tight end, in the slot, & of course run blocking, he does everything & anything, so expect Juice to be around for a while.

  1. WR 11 Brandon Aiyuk(2023)

2022 Cap Number: $3,417,641
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Aiyuk had a very good second season in the bay, he put up over 820 receiving yards, and had 5 touchdowns, he’s a clear playmaker, he’s sure handed, and a great all-around weapon, so expect Brandon to be a 49er for a long time.

  1. DT 91 Arik Armstead(2024)

2022 Cap Number: $9,756,000
Chance of making Roster:
Lock

Analysis: Man, Arik proved he’s worth the $17 million a year deal he got in 2020, as he was a beast once he was moved to his best position, the 3-Technique in DeMeco Ryans’ defense, no he didn’t have double digit sacks, but he was still dominant in the rush defense.

  1. MLB 54 Fred Warner(2026)

2022 Cap Number: $8,134,588
Chance of making Roster:
Lock

Analysis: Despite having somewhat of a down year, he still left the team in tackles with 124 total tackles, and he’s well worth the $19.045 million a year contract extension that he received last summer, & he’s one of the best linebackers in the NFL, right there with Indianapolis Colts’ Darius Leonard.

  1. TE 85 George Kittle(2025)

2022 Cap Number: $7,679,765
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Kittle didn’t have his best season in 2021, as he missed 3 games, yet still finished with 910 receiving yards, & 6 touchdowns, while being one of the main reasons, along with Trent Williams, & Kyle Juszcyzk, that the running game was so dynamic in 2021, & he’s still the best all-around tight end in the NFL.

  1. LT 71 Trent Williams(2026)

2022 Cap Number: $14,031,765
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Trent had such a great year in 2021, he proved that he’s well worth that $23.01 million a year contract he got last offseason, and he’s clearly the NFL’s best Tackle, he was named an All-Pro, & a Pro Bowler.

  1. DE 97 Nick Bosa(2023)

2022 Cap Number: $10,805,564
Chance at making Roster:
Lock

Analysis: Bosa has been an absolute beast, he had 9 sacks his rookie year, and last season he showed that the torn ACL was fully healthy, where he had 15.5 sacks, and expect Nick to be rewarded with a huge contract extension, as he’s on the of the best, if not the best edge rushers in the NFL.

  1. WR/RB 19 Deebo Samuel(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $4,890,519
Chance at making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Deebo had one of the best seasons in recent memory, combining for over 1700 yards between receiving, & rushing, with 14 total touchdowns, and even though he’s asked for a trade, it didn’t happen, and it won’t happen, as Deebo will be a 49er for a long time, as I 100% believe the 49ers extend Deebo.
