We’re continuing the  9-part series where I rank each player, from 1-91, & of course today we’re ranking players 21-30.

Note: The reason I’m doing 91 is because the 49ers are able to carry Alfredo Gutierrez on their roster without him counting against the 90-man limit.

  1. FS/SS 33 Tarvarius Moore(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $1,035,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: I envision Moore being the teams new starting strong safety, and coming off the torn Achilles, hopefully he’s 100%, cause this is one of the spots I’m more worried about.

  1. WR/KR/PR 3 Ray-Ray McCloud III(2023)

2022 Cap Number: $1,910,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers added the best returner on the open market with McCloud, who had 39 catches, 277 yards, while also having 776 kick return yards, & 367 punt return yards, so McCloud should be a huge upgrade over the likes of Trenton Cannon, & JaMycal Hasty, & should also get some decent playing time at WR.

  1. RG 76 Jaylon Moore(2024)

2022 Cap Number: $905,759
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Another player based, mostly on potential, Moore played well when he played at right tackle, but I envision him as the teams’ new right guard.

  1. LEO 95 Drake Jackson(2025)

2022 Cap Number: $1,071,344
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers made Jackson the 61st-overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, and I envision him being that speedy edge rusher opposite Nick Bosa long term.

  1. LG 65 Aaron Banks(2024)

2022 Cap Number: $1,607,638
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: This is based on potential, as I believe Banks will be a very good replacement for Laken Tomlinson at left guard, and while he didn’t get in many games in 2021, his college tape shows how good he can be, & putting him at his college position should help him develop.

  1. DE 92 Kerry Hyder Jr.(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $1,500,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Hyder is BACK, after a season with the Seattle Seahawks, where he only had 1.5 sacks, he’s back with defensive line coach Kris Kocurek, & hopefully he has another good season like in 2020 when he had 8.5 sacks.

  1. LEO 53 Kemoko Turay(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $1,700,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: The 49ers signed Turay late in free agency to a 1-year, $1.7 million deal, with $1 million fully guaranteed, and he’s coming off a very good season, where he had 5.5 sacks for the Indianapolis Colts, so I expect him to do nice things with the 49ers, and this rotation of edge rushers.

  1. DT/NT 99 Javon Kinlaw(2023)

2022 Cap Number: $4,224,191
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: Javon’s 2nd-year didn’t go as planned, but I really am high on him, and I believe he’ll be able to help replace the production of former 49ers NT D.J. Jones, along with free agent signee Hassan Ridgeway, & others.

  1. WR 15 Jauan Jennings(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $825,000
Chance of making Roster: Lock

Analysis: JJ really came on last season, proving to be a 3rd-down machine, he really gave the 49ers 3 reliable wide receivers, so I expect him to continue to grow & develop.

  1. QB 10 Jimmy Garoppolo(2022)

2022 Cap Number: $26,950,000
Chance at making Roster: 50/50

Analysis: I have Garoppolo as a 50/50 to make this team, mainly because of the 49ers saying they have no issue carrying him on the 53-man roster, but I just can’t see how it works, without the team restructuring every contract possible, so Jimmy should be elsewhere in 2022.
