He’s a guy that many 49er fans wanted the team to go after
back when the Carolina Panthers pulled the franchise tag off him in 2016.

If Washington cuts ties with
Norman, they’d save all of the above money, while taking on just $3 million
dead money hits in 2019, and 2020.

Now how would Norman fit with
the 49ers? He’d probably come in, and be the starter opposite Richard Sherman,
but what would Norman want, likely the same amount that he’s being paid now,
but fully guaranteed, which I don’t see the 49ers giving him a 2-year deal,
fully guaranteed, maybe year 1 fully guaranteed, and year 2 guaranteed for
injury, and fully on April 1.

Next up is Miami Dolphins
safety Reshad Jones, who the Dolphins would rather trade, but it’s possible
they cut ties with the 31 year old safety, who is due $13.015 million in 2019,
which $2 million is fully guaranteed, $11.485 million in 2020, and $10.4
million in 2021, along with $100,000 workout bonuses each year. Now his 2020
and 2021 salaries are non-guaranteed.

If Miami cuts ties with
Jones, they’d take on dead money hits of $6.045 million in 2019, and $8.09
million in 2020.

Now would the 49ers take a
look at Jones, my bet is yes, he’d be an upgrade at either safety spots, but my
bet is the 49ers stand pat with what they have, Tavarius Moore, Adrian Colbert,
Jaquiski Tartt, and Marcell Harris.

Lastly is Pittsburgh Steelers
place kicker Chris Boswell, who is due $1 million in 2019, with a $2 million
roster bonus now due after training camp/preseason, plus $1.375 million in
2020, with another roster bonus, this time $1 million, and salaries of $3.085
million in 2021, and $3.26 million in 2022.

If the Steelers were to cut
ties with Boswell, they’d have dead money hits of $1.2 million in 2019, and
$3.6 million in 2020.

Now, would the 49ers sign
Boswell, well that is really upto what happens with franchised place kicker
Robbie Gould, who I believe the 49ers want to keep on a multi year deal, but
Gould has requested a trade, which the 49ers have said they won’t honor.

Another issue is Boswell hasn’t
been the most accurate kicker out there, but the 49ers love veteran kickers, so
that’s why Boswell is on this list.

Now these are just 3 of many
cap cuts that could happen, I’d love to hear your thoughts, who could/should
the 49ers target if cut?

Recently I looked at potential cap cut candidates that the 49ers could make, now let’s…

[5,4,3,2

post-69","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-analysis","category-exclusive","category-roster","category-salary-cap
["GET
