{"id":40874,"date":"2025-05-30T14:46:45","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T18:46:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/49erscap.com\/?p=40874"},"modified":"2025-05-30T15:05:23","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T19:05:23","slug":"breaking-49ers-trading-for-eagles-edge-bryce-huff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/49erscap.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/30\/breaking-49ers-trading-for-eagles-edge-bryce-huff\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: 49ers trading for Eagles EDGE Bryce Huff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>UPDATE<\/strong><\/span><\/em>: According to ESPN&#8217;s Field Yates, the Eagles restructured Huff&#8217;s deal this week, turning $9.05 million of his compensation into a signing bonus, so the 49ers will only take on a fully guaranteed $7.7 million base salary, &amp; a $250,000 workout bonus for a $7.95 million cap number, as for 2026, it should be unchanged, so the 49ers take on his $1.215 million base salary, a $1 million roster bonus, a $250,000 workout bonus, plus the $14.635 million option bonus, which would mean a $5.392 million 2026 cap number, with $11.708 million in dead money in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>According to FOX 29 Philly, the 49ers have agreed to a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to get defensive end Bryce Huff, who hadn&#8217;t been at voluntary workouts for the Eagles.<\/p>\n<p>Huff has 2-year left on his contract, with base salaries of $1.17 million in 2025, &amp; $1.215 million in 2026, there are also option bonuses of $15.58 million in 2025, which is fully guaranteed &amp; must be exercised by the beginning of the 2025 season, &amp; $14.635 million in 2026, which must be exercised by the start the 2026 regular season, along with a $1 million roster bonus due in 2026 by the 3rd day of the new league year next March, and he also has $250,000 workout bonuses in both 2025 &amp; 2026.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear how much the 49ers are taking on, since those option bonuses prorate over 5 years each, as there are 4 voids years in his deal already, which means the 49ers would would be paying Huff the following, cap wise, in 2025, &amp; 2026.<\/p>\n<p>2025: $4.536 million ($1.17 million base salary, $3.116 million prorated from 2025 option bonus, &amp; $250,000 workout bonus)<\/p>\n<p>2026: $8.508 million ($1.215 million base salary, $3.116 million prorated from 2025 option bonus, $2.927 million prorated from 2026 option bonus, $1 million roster bonus, &amp; $250,000 workout bonus)<\/p>\n<p>2027: $21.056 million dead money hit<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear if the Eagles will take on any of Huff&#8217;s money due, mainly the option bonuses, and what the 49ers will be sending in draft pick compensation, but it can&#8217;t be more than a day 3 pick.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Eagles continued reorganizing their roster on Friday, reportedly finalizing a deal to send defensive end Bryce Huff to the 49ers for a draft pick. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5TO6rp1u6M\">https:\/\/t.co\/5TO6rp1u6M<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; FOX 29 (@FOX29philly) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FOX29philly\/status\/1928519348773138541?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">ESPN sources: 49ers and Eagles are working to finalize a trade that will send edge rusher Bryce Huff to San Francisco for a mid-round  pick.
