The 49ers got a victory in week 2 of the 2023 regular season, beating the Rams 30-23, in a game that was way too close for my liking.<\/p>\n
Brock Purdy was good, going 17\/25 for 206 passing yards, no touchdowns, but more importantly no interceptions.<\/p>\n
The 49ers scored on a 51-yard rushing touchdown by Christian McCaffrey, who had 116 rush yards on 20 carries, along with 3 catches for 19 yards.<\/p>\n
Deebo Samuel led the way for the 49ers receiving wise, with 63 yards on 6 catches, along with what would be the game winning 17-yard rushing touchdown, and he ended the game with 5 carries for 38 rush yards.<\/p>\n
Purdy also had 3 carries for 5 yards, and a QB sneak touchdown at the end of the 1st half, in what was a gutsy call by the 49ers to go for it with just 1 second left in the half, down 17-10.<\/p>\n
Jauan Jennings made some nice catches, ending the game with 51 yards on 2 receptions, while Brandon Aiyuk had 43 yards on 3 catches, and George Kittle had 30 yards on 3 catches.<\/p>\n
On defense, the 49ers were led by Fred Warner, who had the teams lone sack, and he ended the game with 12 tackles, while his running mate Dre Greenlaw had 11 tackles.<\/p>\n
Deommodore Lenoir had a nice interception, and ended the game with 8 tackles, while Isaiah Oliver had an interception on a tipped ball, he ended with 7 tackles.<\/p>\n
Charvarius Ward had 10 total tackles, and looked good, but he also got burned a few times by Puka Nacua.<\/p>\n
Ambry Thomas had 3 tackles, as did Tashaun Gipson Sr., and Talanoa Hufanga had 4 tackles.<\/p>\n
On the d-line, Arik Armstead had 4 tackles, Drake Jackson had 1 tackles, as did Javon Kinlaw, Javon Hargrave, and Nick Bosa had 2 tackles.<\/p>\n
As for TFLs, Nick Bosa, & Fred Warner had 1 each.<\/p>\n
Overall, the 49ers played a tough, and good Los Angeles Rams team, but in the end they were able to get the win, and played disciplined football, with no turnovers, and 2 takeaways.<\/p>\n
