With all of the 49ers 2023 UDFAs terms now known, it\u2019s time for another roster projection, well 2, 1 with Brock Purdy on the 53, & 1 without Purdy on the 53, either on PUP or Short Term IR.<\/p>\n

        PUP\/IR:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        QB 13 Brock Purdy(2025)<\/p>\n

        As far as the salary cap ramifications, with Brock Purdy on the 53, the 49ers would have $4,667,111 in salary cap room for 2023, but that\u2019s before a Nick Bosa extension, which should save the team nearly $10 million, bringing their cap room just a bit under $14.7 million.<\/p>\n

        Now, with Purdy on PUP or Short Term IR, the 49ers salary cap room would be $3,774,611, and again with a Nick Bosa extension, they would have close to $13.8 million in cap room.<\/p>\n

        As for 2024, under both projections, the team would have 41 players signed, before Bosa\u2019s extension, and would be $5,185,588 over a projected $256 million salary cap, but with just 41 players signed, so with 51 players, they\u2019d be $13,135,588 over the $256 million cap.<\/p>\n

        Of course, Bosa\u2019s 2024 cap number could\/should come in around $12 million, meaning they\u2019d be $17,185,588 over with 42 players signed, and $24,340,588 over with 51 players signed.<\/p>\n

        Like I went over the other day<\/a>, 4 players should\/could see their base salaries escalate, Aaron Banks, Elijah Mitchell, Deommodore Lenoir, & Talanoa Hufanga, with the first 3 being $3.124 million each, and Hufanga being $4.901 million, which would leave the 49ers $26,719,004 over with 42 players signed, or $33,874,004 with 51 signed.<\/p>\n

        Again<\/a>, as I mentioned the other day, the 49ers have ways of creating salary cap room, with them listed below.<\/p>\n

        RB Christian McCaffrey \u2013 $8,472,000 (Restructure)<\/p>\n

        WR Deebo Samuel \u2013 $15,877,600 (Restructure)<\/p>\n

        TE George Kittle \u2013 $9,752,000 (Restructure)<\/p>\n

        LT Trent Williams \u2013 $15,072,000 (Restructure)<\/p>\n

        DT Arik Armstead \u2013 $12,960,000 (Extension or Restructure)<\/p>\n

        MLB Fred Warner \u2013 $11,340,000 (Restructure)<\/p>\n

        WLB Dre Greenlaw \u2013 $5,580,000 (Extension or Restructure)<\/p>\n

        CB Charvarius Ward \u2013 $9,148,000 (Extension or Restructure)<\/p>\n

        If the 49ers were to extend Armstead, Greenlaw, & Ward, they\u2019d save $27.688 million, while restructuring Deebo Samuel\u2019s deal saves the team $15,877,600, for a total savings of $43,565,600, which would leave the 49ers $16,846,596 in cap room with 42 players signed, or $9,691,596 with 51 players signed.<\/p>\n

        The team would likely tender Jauan Jennings, who will be a restricted free agent, at the 2nd<\/sup>-round tender level, which would be $4.901 million, but the 49ers will still be able to bring back whatever free agents on cheap 1-year deals, while adding some vets on 1-year deals, and making 1 splash signing on a multi-year deal.<\/p>\n

        I also need to remind people that the 49ers can save cap room with a Brandon Aiyuk extension, which I do believe will happen, as well as the team will have adjustments\/credits, and carryover, as none of the aforementioned cap room numbers were calculated into the 2024 numbers.<\/p>\n

        So again, don\u2019t be worried, 2024 isn\u2019t as bad as some may say it is, or how it looks on paper, as I liken it to the 2022 offseason, where the 49ers were $20 million or so over the cap, redid George Kittle, & Arik Armstead\u2019s deals to get under, they were able to keep then RFA Azeez Al-Shaair, & still sign Mooney Ward to a big splashy deal.<\/p>\n
