corner, I think it\u2019s time to take another deep look into the 49ers current 2022 salary cap situation as it stands today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right now, the 49ers have 79 players signed, accounting for $187,850,411, with $18,221,852 in dead money, for a total commitment of $206,072,263, leaving them $6,869,551 under their 2022 adjusted cap of $212,941,814, and the 49ers could create more cap room down the road by restructuring Fred Warner\u2019s deal, or extending the likes of Samson Ebukam, Emmanuel Moseley, &amp; Jimmie Ward.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below is 400;\">QB Jimmy Garoppolo- $58,824<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MLB Fred Warner- $29,412<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Charvarius Ward- $80,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Emmanuel Moseley- $176,471<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s a total of $344,706, the 49ers would have needed to payback Jimmie Ward $29,412, but with him on injured reserve for at least 4 weeks, the 49ers should get back at least 3 weeks as a credit in 2023, a total of $88,235, along with $44,118 from Arik Armstead\u2019s per game roster bonus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now let\u2019s look at what players have LTBE incentives for 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QB Jimmy Garoppolo- $5.65 million, consisting of 15 games of the $250,000 incentive for 25% or more playtime in any game, 9 of the $100,000 for each game he won while playing 25% or more, $500,000 for 1 playoff game with 50% of more, &amp; $500,000 for 50% or more playtime in the conference championship game.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Deebo Samuel- $150,000 for having 3 or more rush touchdowns in 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TE Ross Dwelley- $152,500 for playtime, yards, touchdowns, &amp; club achievement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, let\u2019s look at what players have incentives that are considered NLTBE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QB Jimmy Garoppolo- $2.8 million, this consists of the other 2 games playing 25% or more for $250,000 each, 8 games of the $100,000 for wins in those games he plays 25% or more, $500,000 for winning the conference championship, &amp; $1 million for playing 50% or more in the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RB Jeff Wilson Jr.- $950,000, this is for playtime, rush yards, catches, &amp; touchdowns<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Deebo Samuel- $500,000 for 480 or more rush yards, and he has $150,000 already counting, so he can only earn $500,000, as the max value of the incentives are $650,000 per year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Ray-Ray McCloud III- $700,000, breaks downs as $500,000 for 46% playtime, 40 catches, 400 receiving yards, 200 rush yards, &amp; $200,000 for Pro Bowl selection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DE Samson Ebukam- $500,000 for sacks, &amp; Pro Bowl selection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DE Kerry Hyder Jr.- $750,000 for sacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DE Jordan Willis- $77,500 for 4 sacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NT Hassan Ridgeway- $700,000 for playtime, &amp; sacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Charvarius Ward- $500,000 for Pro Bowl and\/or 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0or 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0team All-Pro selection<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Jason Verrett- $152,500 for 55% playtime<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SS George Odum- $1.5 million, but these are unknown, most likely for playtime, tackles, interceptions, and Pro Bowl selection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, let\u2019s look at what kind of adjustments\/credits the 49ers can get back in 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First off, the 49ers have a projected $20,307,195 in cap room, but that\u2019s with just 32 players signed, so when they have enough players signed to get to the top 51 rule, they\u2019d have $6,057,195, so any amount will help greatly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before I go over what the 49ers can get back in 2023, let\u2019s look at the 30 players signed for 2023, with their veterans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QB Nate Sudfeld- $1.035 million out of $2 million that he was guaranteed when he signed with the 49ers in the offseason, so they\u2019ll eat $965,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Malik Turner- $300,000, as Turner\u2019s practice squad salary is $358,200, but this is depended on him staying on the practice squad, or another teams\u2019 practice squad, or 53-man roster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Marcus Johnson- $250,000, as Johnson was signed by the Giants to their practice squad, so if he stays on their practice squad, or another teams\u2019 practice squad, or 53-man roster, they\u2019ll get that back as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DE Kemoko Turay- $865,178, if Turay stays on the 53-man roster for the remainder of the 2022 season, or at least on the teams\u2019 injured reserve list.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Dontae Johnson- $358,200, maybe more, as he could be activated up to 3 times, which would make it $471,000, or more if the team or another team signs him to their 53-man roster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s a total of $2,808,378.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next are UDFAs that were given guarantees in their base salaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WR Tay Martin- $45,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RG Jason Poe- $65,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SLB Marcelino McCrary-Ball- $100,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CB Qwuantrezz Knight- $25,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FS Tayler Hawkins- $50,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of these players are on the 49ers practice squad, so if they stick, the 49ers should get back a total of $285,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also gave out the following to players not on their, or another teams\u2019 practice squad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C Dohnovan West- $100,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DT Kevin Atkins- $10,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MLB Jeremiah Gemmel- $70,000<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s a total of $180,000, but right now they wouldn\u2019t get back any of it since none are signed to a practice squad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, I must note that both Leon O\u2019Neal Jr., &amp; Sam Schlueter got guarantees, but because they were waived off of injured reserve with an injury settlement, the 49ers won\u2019t get those back per the CBA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, the 49ers could get back Ross Dwelley\u2019s $152,500.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, the 49ers should get back as much as $3,378,231 in 2023, which would give the team around $9.435 million in cap room to begin the 2023 offseason.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, $9.435 million isn\u2019t enough to sign their own free agents, or bring in any outside free agents, and sign their draft picks, so they\u2019d have to do some restructuring, with the candidates below, with cap savings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TE George Kittle &#8211; $8.456 million max, $7,927,500 minimum<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LT Trent Williams &#8211; $14.588 million max, $13,676,250 minimum<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DT Arik Armstead &#8211; $11.78 million max, $11,043,750 minimum<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MLB Fred Warner &#8211; $9.476 million max, $8,883,750 minimum<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, let\u2019s look at the teams\u2019 courtesy\/credit to <a href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/franchise-transition-and-rfa-tenders\">OverTheCap.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1<sup>st<\/sup>-Round Tender: $6.011 million<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<sup>nd<\/sup>-Round Tender: $4.308 million<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right of First Refusal Tender: $2.629 million<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the 49ers want to tender Kevin Givens, who\u2019s been having a good year thus far, they\u2019d either do the ROFR, which is $2.629 million, or the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>-round tender, which is $4.308 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t expect them to tender Colton McKivitz, and as for Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, if they let Azeez Al-Shaair walk, they may tender him, but no higher than the ROFR tender of $2.629 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for the teams\u2019 ERFAs, all 3(Jauan Jennings, Blake Hance, &amp; Curtis Robinson) would require the $940,000 tender.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the teams\u2019 UFAs, the ones I\u2019d consider bringing back if I\u2019m the 49ers are running back Jeff Wilson Jr., center Jake Brendel, defensive ends Samson Ebukam, Kerry Hyder Jr., &amp; Charles Omenihu, nose tackle Hassan Ridgeway, strongside linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, &amp; free safety Tashaun Gipson Sr.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wouldn\u2019t expect these players, outside of Ebukam, Al-Shaair, &amp; Moseley to cost more than a few million a year, some like Brendel, Hyder, &amp; Gipson in the veteran minimum range.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I haven\u2019t listed Mike McGlinchey, Jason Verrett, or Jimmie Ward for different reasons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McGlinchey will likely end up either playing bad, or play his way out of the 49ers price range, ala Laken Tomlinson, &amp; D.J.
